Fashion Icon: Bianca Jagger

Those who have seen my last fashion post are aware that Bianca Jagger is a huge fashion muse to me. Here are some of her iconic outfits that left me in awe!

The Jumpsuit

Bianca Jagger turned heads when she would rock her signature look which were jumpsuits. Jumpsuits were extremely popular during the seventies but the way Bianca styled them was very unique. This is probably my favorite fashion look from her! From the turban to the gloves.

The Floppy Hat

Bianca's wedding outfit is probably her top iconic outfit. Many celebrities today such as Kim Kardashian and Amal Clooney have recreated this look. She wore this on her wedding day with Mick Jagger. It is definitely not like the common wedding dress which made it to be iconic.

The Pants Suit

Some may think the pants suit is not quite flattering but I think it's lovely. If you think a pants suit is too masculine, try to add a bit of sexiness or feminine.  Bianca  would add a low cut blouse or a dress blouse. Both are lovely. I still love seeing women in pants suits today!

Current Drugstore Favorites

As promised, here are my current drugstore favorites!

I have been currently using Real Techniques brushes religiously. The bristles are extremely soft and blends product effortlessly. These brushes are amazing quality and are only under 10 bucks each or for a set 20 bucks. As most of you may know that brushes can be extremely expensive. A big thanks to Sam and Nic who created these brushes!

I always have expectations when I comes to pressed powders because I like to have a powder that set my makeup and also touch up without looking cakey. This sets my makeup very well and you only need a little dusting throughout the day.

I absolutely love lip cream and liquid lipsticks but they can get a little pricey. Luckily, NYX has an amazing selection of lip cream that are only $5.99. As of lately, I've been wearing the color Cannes and it is a great everyday lip color. This drys to a complete matte finish without the intense drying of the lips. Every lip cream that I tried from this line has be pigmented and great!

This is probably one of the best drugstore cheek highlighter that I have ever used. Most highlights that I had purchased at the drugstore are always glittery. As for this one, it gives a luminous shimmer. I was told that this is actually a dupe to M.A.C's Soft and Gentle which is $32.00. As for the e.l.f. blush, it is only 3 bucks! A mega-steal!

Hard Candy Glamoflauge Foundation
If you have tried the concealer of this, you know how thick it is. The foundation happens to feel very thin and light, but the pigmentation is phenomenal. The texture feels very similar to bb cream but has coverage like a foundation. I think this is very similar to M.A.C. Pro Longwear, but if you read my last post I'm allergic to it. This is next best thing and it's only 7 bucks!

Current Favorite 'Luxurious' Products

I have not been consistent with my blog, so I thought I would gather my current favorite beauty products that make me feel a bit fancy-schmancy. I will be doing a drugstore/high-street products post as well later this week. Keep an eye out for that!

Butter London Nail Lacquer in Ladybird
These nail varnishes are not like any regular nail varnishes that I have tried. This applies almost like a gel nail polish which leaves a lovely shine. I only had to apply two coats. The polish is opaque and vivid, so I did not to stress about the application! The color is a lovely bright, tomato red which is great for summer. The polish lasted about 8-10 days which I believe is phenomenal.

Daisy by Marc Jacobs
This is my signature scent and my absolute favorite fragrance EVER! This is a fresh, crisp scent that is perfect for spring and summer but it's crisp enough to wear into fall and winter. I'm usually more into muskier scents such as Gucci's Guilty but I seem to never stop wearing Daisy!

Too Faced Soul Mates Blushing Bronzer Duo in Ross & Rachel
I think it may be a tad obvious that I love the name of this product! But the product itself is amazing. Bronzer is very important for a pale gal like myself. It's not too dark for fair complexions and it isn't too light for dark complexions. I use this for bronzing and adding "life" to my pale, ghoulish skin. The little blush in this product is awesome! It's highly pigmented and has a radiant sheen to it which gives a healthy glow. I  know that I am going to use the heck out of this thing during summer.

Jo Malone Vitamin E Lip Conditioner
As a person who struggles with dehydrated lips, this stuff is gold. This targets all the dryness on my lips and it leaves my lips smooth. After a week or two of using this, I began to notice my lips being less chapped. I learned that the vitamin E protects the lips from the damaging effects of the environment such heat and wind . This is one of the best lip conditioners I had ever put on my lips!

Nars Blush in Sin
I have been using this as both a blush and an eyeshadow. I'm in love with the healthy, radiant afterglow that it gives to my face. The gold undertones look lovely with a bronzed face which has been my go-to look as of lately. The color is a berry color with gold shimmers in it which is great for fall as well! Nars blushes are probably my favorite from the other brands because of how pigmented and radiant they are.

If you have any luxurious products that you believe are worth the splurge, please let me know by commenting on this post or tagging @nessmarg on Instagram or Twitter!

Summer Fashion Inspiration from 1940's-1970's

Those who know me quite well are aware of my admiration for fashion from previous decades. Lately, I've been doing intense research for some inspiration for my summer wardrobe. I thought it would be fun to share some outfits that I loved. Hope you get a little inspired as well!

1940's
In the summer, I love wearing dresses and skirts. Both are so comfortable to wear during the warmer seasons. When I was researching popular trends during the early 1940's, I noticed how knee-length floral dresses and skirts were a huge trend in the forties. These outfits are just perfect for summer. I  especially found the wedges that the first two ladies pictured below wore were suited stunningly. These outfits are absolutely feminine and classic.

1950's
Again, I love to keep fresh and comfortable during the summer. Personally, jean shorts aren't always flattering for every occasion. I love how stunning shorts and rompers were worn in the fifties. These looks are absolutely classy. I love high waist shorts and I could care less if the style is considered raunchy or not. After looking at these photos, I was in awe. I think outfits like these would look lovely and fresh during the summer!

1960's

Yes, I put the lovely Brigitte Bardot twice! She was a huge style icon in the sixties and evidently one of my favorites.  I love these outfits because they are casual but adorable! All outfits look stunning, comfortable, and again..classic. Perfect for summer. These would cute ideal outfits for a picnic date, lunch date, or just a simple day!

1970's
The seventies were a bit more daring when it came to fashion compared to the previous eras. I think recreating seventies outfits such as these are the most fun! The colors that were popular in the 1970's just scream summer! I'm going to have so much fun with these as my fashion inspirations. These outfits are sexy, fun, and adorable!

Yes, I had to include Bianca Jagger! She's another style icon that I love!

Disclaimer: I located all these photo's on Google search. None of the photos above belong to me.

Tips for Confident Living

  • Surround yourself with positivity. If you want to be positive, you must surround yourself with positivity energy. The best way is to surround yourself around positive people. Personally, when I am around negative people, their negative vibe rubs off on me. Most negative people are irritable and have insecurities. If they can not be happy for themselves, they are not going to be happy for you. As for being surrounded by positive people, you feel that everything around you is meaningful. Most positive people believe in everyone and everything has meaning. They will raise you up and never bring you and your hopes down.
  • Be kind. Learn to love others. Bitterness can rule over your life and bite you in the end. Even if they are bitter and negative, compliment them.As the lovely Dolly Parton once said, "If you see somebody without a smile, give 'em yours." Personally, receiving compliments from friends, family members or even a random stranger feels amazing. Pass on the positivity. Just like you want to receive it, give it. Compliment even if you feel crumby about yourself.
  • Do it for yourself. Tell yourself that you're living you life the way you want, for yourself. Do not allow anyone to tell how to live your life. Remember that you can not meet everyone expectations. Life is too short to satisfy everyone. If something makes you happy and it isn't harmful, enjoy it. Many people have low self esteem due to society's expectations but you're not living for them.
  • Learn from your past mistakes. Stop beating yourself for them. The mistake already happened and you can not do anything about. So, what do you do? Learn from them. We are all human. No one is perfect. You have come so far, do not loathe. .

    •         Know that you're worth it. There is no one like you in this world. There are millions and millions of human beings, but there is no one like you.
